About www.faroeislandsreview.com

Goal

This website has a goal. It wants to bring everyone's attention to a small country in the North Atlantic - quite different compared to most other countries. The country is: The Faroe Islands - a very small island community which is a whole microcosmos of it's own. This site wants to make everything the Faroes have to offer known by the world outside the Faroes.

This site aims to be the best and most popular information provider of it's kind, in a language that most people understand - English! (But note that  the editor's English skills are far from perfect so we apologise for any language errors or mispellings that might occur on this site.)

If you want a quick overview of information and links to interesting videos, photos, articles, blogs, podcast episodes, links and other information that can be found on the internet, all about the Faroe Islands and other Faroe related information, this is the right place to find it. We do not engage in censorship - only rule is that all material has to be non-judgmental and fair and that it does not violate any international laws or customary practices.

Purpose

The purpose of this site is to be an entrance - a portal - that aggregates, accumulates and highlights links to all kinds of stuff about the Faroe Islands, people outside the Faroes likely will find useful or interesting. This information could earlier only be found widespread on the internet. Now it's gathered in one place - here - and organised to make it easier for you to get an overview.

The site is edited by just one person but smart technology and an international network of volunteers and Faroe enthusiasts and ambassadors stand behind the editor helping to collect and select the most relevant information available on the internet.

Information on the internet in English about Faroese matters is scarse, so this site does not claim that you can find just about anything about the Faroes. That would be impossible. But you can find an exclusive selection of current or especially interesting information.

As it is, you can't find other sites on the net of this kind - not in English - that get regularly updated. There is no other place on the net where you can get an overview and a quick insight into information of the kind you find on this site. This information would probably be too extensive and too difficult for each indivual person to come across by them selves in a jiffy.

That is why we've decided to collect and select all this material for you - to make your information seeking much simpler and quicker! And also to help you find information you otherwise wouldn't even have looked for, but nevertheless find interesting.

Content suggestions

Do you have suggestions regarding links, editorial or other relevant content for this website? If you have, or come across material - or links - you think might be relevant to display on this site, please send the information to the E-mail address: elin(at)heinesen.fo or to Elin Brimheim Heinesen on Facebook.

OBS! If you run a Faroe related business - i.e. in tourism or any business with a need to communicate internationally about your Faroe related product - please send us information about it - e.g. articles, videos or other material where your business is mentioned - and we will help highlight your information here.

Remember this! It is a good idea to provide information to a unifying site were people most likely will try to find it first - and thus help people find you!

Contributions

This website is first and foremost a labour of love made voluntarily by the editor with a little help from a few people. As it is there is no money involved and there are no sponsors besides the editor herself. Any contributions or donations are therefore of course welcomed.

We will continue to make this website an even better information provider and a more useful tool people can count on. As more and more people will know of the site and recognise the useful content it gives direct access to - they will, hopefully, spread the word about it, perhaps widely across the globe. As the website hopefully becomes more and more visited it will help connect the outside world to the Faroes.

Consequently the website might become a significant player on the internet and prove to be increasingly important  - especially for Faroese businesses who will benefit from the valuable contacts and customers this site might provide for them.

But in order to make this happen and continuously keep the good work up, the website needs all the cooperation and support it can get so it won't be solely dependent of just a few volunteers who have to work on it in their valuable spare time. To do our work as best possible for a long time to come we need input, of course - both content wise and money wise. A group of people do already provide some input, but the more the merrier. The more eyes and ears are open and the more input this website gets, the more will happen on the website and the more people will also visit the site. So please read on...

Are you among those who recognise the value and the importance of providing the world outside the Faroes with overall current information about the islands - in English - in a popular way? And would you like to see this website continue to grow and prosper and be consolidated?

If you want to cooperate, donate or contribute in one way or another and thus help to ensure that this site will continue to exist - please contact Elin Brimheim Heinesen at Facebook or at elin(at)heinesen.fo
