Timelapse Photography From The Faroe Islands
Time-lapse photography is a cinematography
technique whereby each film frame is captured at
a rate much slower than it will be played back.
When replayed at normal speed, time appears to
be moving faster and thus lapsing. Time-lapse
photography can be considered to be the opposite
of high speed photography.

Social Sciences from 's-Hertogenbosch, The
Netherlands. He traveled to the Faroe Islands in
April 2008 and stayed a couple of months where
he took some astonishingly beautiful
pictures - mostly emphasising the light playing

traveler, photographer and publicist, scientist
and university lecturer - father of two and
husband of one. He was born in 1970 in Policka,
Czech Republic, and spent most of his childhood
taking photographs and learning to develop them
himself. His first camera was a Zenit EM, and
since then, he has never been without a camera.

dedicated Faroe friend and enthusiast for many
years and has visited the islands numerous
times. Arne takes pictures of nature but he also
likes to take pictures of daily life, culture

characterisitic small island right outside of Tórshavn, the
capital. The photos are taken by Jens-Kjeld Jensen, a
Dane who moved to the Faroe Islands in 1970. He has
tremendous knowledge about Faroese nature and animal
life - especially bird life. His research has had great
significance for the preservation of Faroese nature. He
also stuffs birds, found and delivered by other people.
